Give Me Glow Cosmetics Liquid Lipstick Review, Swatches & FOTD

Hello Beauties,

So you may or may not have heard about Give Me Glow Cosmetics. When I purchased these beauties last month, I got many of you asking me “Which brand is that? How is the texture and quality like? Is it drying like other liquid lipsticks? I thought instead of answering so many questions differently to different people, I might as well do a full-fledged review. My friend & I did a combine haul when Give Me Glow Cosmetics was running a 50% discount on their 1 year Anniversary. Yes, it’s just a year old and the brand is already running successful, so much so that during the 50% discount all of her shades were OUT OF STOCK. Don’t believe me? Check out the number of comments they get on their Instagram Page.

THE SMALL PRINT:

Please keep in mind that all colors will vary on different skin tones, lip pigmentation, and lighting. We try our best to showcase the true color in the most natural lighting possible.

Our beautiful lip model @jolanijolie has a light olive completion.

Some lipsticks may leave a slight stain due to high pigmentation. An oil based remover will take the stain right off.

We have a new formula so some liquid lipstick shades from my previous shop may or may not be slightly different No worries, its not a dramatic change at all. We are using more
high color pigments than we did before to result in a more opaque full coverage look.

My Experience with Give Me Glow Cosmetics Liquid Lipsticks

To start with GMG is run by a woman called ‘Brandy’ who creates this beautiful handcradted liquid lipsticks. She is an expert in creating dupes of high end brands like Kylie, ABH etc. When she started selling lipsticks she used to sell only on SHOPIFY. Soon she started her online store to meet the increasing demand. She is a one-wo(man) army and manages everything from manufacturing to customer service all by herself with the help of few friends and family.  Now coming to the liquid lipsticks, the matte liquid lipsticks inspite of being matte is extremely comfortable on the lips. This is by far the best matte liquid lipstick I have tried; I can say so because I have KYLIE, COLOURPOP, MILANI and most of our Indian brands. I am a matte liquid lipstick FAN and easy to be melted with anything that says MATTE. The formula of this liquid lipstick is class apart and it hardly transfers unlike Colourpop. Also these liquid lipsticks are highly pigmented and don’t dry out your lips. The longevity is really amazing and stays upto 6-7 hrs easily and only goes off when you have oily food. The only Con I’d say that the liquid lipsticks are different from the swatches shown on the website. So I highly recommend that you see the swatches on Instagram first and then make a purchase or you may be disappointed. Otherwise, GMG Liquid lipsticks are amazeballs and I think all of us should have atleast one of this to know how the difference. Here are the swatches of the shades I got.

Fireside Flirting, Sweater Weather ,Terra, Glampire, Kissed Love Note, Country Red

Fireside Flirting- This shade is gorgeous and its a brown shade with a hint of red. I absolutely adore this shade as it makes my complexion glow. This shade will look good on all skintones. One of those adorable shades meant for all.

Kissed Love Note- This shade is very similar to More better from Colourpop. I would honestly say this looks better on me than Colourpop More better. It has a perfect blend of pink and purple which makes this such a hot shade. Another favourite from GMG.

Terra- This shade like you can see is nothing near to Terracotta. Its from vivid matte lip range. Its a nude shade that actually washes me out and this is what I mean that swatches on the website is nothing like the real shade. So please check the swatches on Instagram. However, its a great shade to mix and match and make your custom shade. But can’t wear alone for sure. May suit fair skintones well.

Sweater Weather- This shade is quite hard to explain but I like the way it looks on me. Its a brown with purple hints, made for fall/winters. But you can wear it in any season. This shade will suit all skin tones again especially medium to dusky skintones.

Country Red-  This shade is a dusky greyish-purple shade which is not easily found in many brands. Again, the shade name is deceptive and it is nothing like Red as you can see. This shade will look great on fair to medium skintones.

Glampire- When I first applied Glampire I thought its black but no its not. Its the most darkest shade in my vanity. This shade is darkest brown, I would say the perfect vampy shades. This shade will look best great on darker skin tones than fair skin. One of the most bold shade in my makeup drawer and I love it.

Pros-

  • Unique shades
  • Handcrafted liquid lipstick
  • Great dupes for high end brands
  • Vegan & Cruelty free
  • Long staying
  • Superb Pigmentation
  • Extremely comfortable matte
  • Doesn’t dry out lips
  • Lovely Fragrance
  • Doesn’t transfer
  • Nice packaging

Cons-

  • Shades looks very different from swatches
  • Comes of from the center with oily food
  • Can be a little pricey for some

Ratings- 4.8/5

Recommendation- GMG liquid lipsticks is for everyone who loves matte liquid lipsticks that does not give dry feeling or transfer. The mattes are comforting infact girls who have very dry lips can also try GMG. The texture is something I can swear by.

P.S – This is not a paid review, the products are purchased by me & my review remains honest and unbiased.

Miss Claire Soft Matte Lip Cream 17 A Review & FOTD!

Hello Sunshine,

Miss Claire Soft Matte Lip Cream 17 A Review & FOTD!
Miss Claire Soft Matte Lip Cream 17 A Review & FOTD!

So yesterday I went for the Organic Harvest event in Juhu for their store launch. On my way back home I thought I’ll visit the Beauty centre Khar as I haven’t been there from a long long time. I went along with my blogger friend Natasha as she wanted to shop too. I was clear in my mind that I am not splurging more on make-up. I was simply going to accompany my friend. But I also knew that I will not come out empty-hand 😛 I decided I’ll buy some minor stuff like a lip pencil. So we directly went to the Miss Claire section, I saw my friend picking this shade and was very keen to try it out. I thought I’ll pick this for myself too. Also, I bought a Party queen colour elixir lipencil and unique style lip pencil. Natasha mentioned that the shade 17A is a closer dupe of Kylie lip kit range. I am sure it is now..17A is such a gorgeous everyday shade. I couldn’t wait to review the shade that I bought yesterday. And here I am…Mind you! I have started using Miss Claire in the year 2011. Where everyone use to buy Lakme. My first products were VOV, Miss Claire and INCOLOR Cosmetics. That time they weren’t so famous. But now they are all over the blogosphere.

Product Description – It’s not lipstick, nor is it gloss. It’s like nothing you’ve experienced before. It’s lipstick cream that goes on silky but looks soft matte.

Price – I got mine for Rs. 180 for 6.5gms but the price varies from Rs. 120 to 300 depending on the place.  Its easily available in Mumbai stores. Instagram stores have also started selling it.

Ingredients –

Packaging –  The packaging is exactly like NYX lip crème’s. It comes with a wand for easy application in a tube form of packaging. It is travel friendly and light-weight. The lip cream being thick in consistency doesn’t drip. The packaging supposed to display the shade in the tube. However, I feel the shade is pretty different when swatched or applied on lips. One has to check a tester before buying.

My Experience with Miss Claire Soft Matte Lip Cream 17A

The shade 17 A is a beautiful peachy browny pink kinda shade which makes it a perfect daily wear. The texture of this lip creams are soft and smooth. The only criteria would be to exfoliate your lips before application. It doesn’t accentuate fine lines and looks very pretty on the lips. It is wet on application which settles into a soft matte texture.  These are thoroughly pigmented. Two swipes is more than enough for medium to full coverage. It hides pigmented lips and doesn’t give a patchy look. My lipsticks usually transfer a lot but with this on my lips I can sip as much as coffee as I want. It doesn’t transfer and stay true to its base. This shade has been compared to Kylie’s lip collection repeatedly. I am so impressed with this shade that I want to get a back up of this so that I never run out of it. This shade will suit fair to medium-dark skintones the most. It has a pleasant vanilla fragrance. It doesn’t feel heavy on the lips. The lip creams survive lighter meals but tends to fade away a bit if you consume oily food. This stays for around 6hrs on my lips which is pretty long lasting. There is variety of shades to pick from this range. I already have 4 shades but this is my cult favourite.

Recommendation – I highly recommend this shade if you are on a budget and looking for a Kylie lippie dupe. It a must have shade in my opinion. It is perfect for daily/office/neutral makeup. The only thing I don’t like about the Miss Claire lip cream is the different price range everywhere. If you can buy it in the right price frame then this is a steal. I am getting a back up for this soon.
