Maybelline Summer Essentials Kit Review – #StaySummerFresh!

Hello beauties,

Maybelline Summer Essentials Kit Review – #StaySummerFresh
Maybelline Summer Essentials Kit Review – #StaySummerFresh

With the rising temperature in Mumbai, it has become extremely difficult to apply even a bbcream in this weather. I like my face matte and dry during summers. I totally avoid foundations even the lighter versions for daily wear. Maybelline has been kind enough to send out this summer essential kit. This makes life so much easier when you are absolutely clueless on what kind of make up do you want or don’t want on your face. I pretty much skip heavy loaded foundations and opt for a sunscreen, a matte compact, a kajal and a light lip gloss or lip balm for my daily/office wear. The Maybelline summer essential kit covers the Maybelline White Superfresh Compact, the colossal black kajal and the Baby lips color lip balm in Berry Crush.

This came in a very cute golden bling pouch. Some girls might hate blingy stuff but this is not like those jazzy heavy duty blings. It looks quite classy and chic enough to carry for evening looks. Also this bag is too good, quality wise and spacious too. It also makes a great make up pouch.

I have done a detailed review on this compact here. I love how  this mattifies my face and suck in the extra oil. It makes me look young, fresh and bright. Of course I need to do touch up in between but I love how a touch of this makes me look oh-so-fresh. It comes with a cute mirror and fancy white packaging. It comes with UV protection which is an absolute must for me in any compact powder. And the best part is the pricing of this compact, just Rs. 150 for this fabulous product. So pocket friendly and effective. I am sure this would be an absolute hit amongst college goers.

Maybelline Colossal Kajal

I know many of you might have already tried and tested this kajal. There is a huge fan following for this particular kajal. I absolutely hate kajals/ kohl that smudges. Long back when I first bought this kajal it used to smudge a lot. I believe MNY has improved the formula of this kajal as it doesn’t smudge anymore. My eyes are super watery and no kajal stays on my waterline for a long time. This stays for 4-5 hrs on my waterline which is quite decent for Rs. 150 bucks. Also my mom absolutely loves this kajal. So thumbs up again..MNY!

Now you would say.. “Are you nuts to buy a lip balm during summers?” Trust me babe.. I need a lipbalm 365 days a year. My lips are so dry and chapped that I cannot afford to wear a lipstick without applying a lipbalm. From the time baby lips have been launched here, I have been a loyal lover to Baby lips. The price is Rs. 135 for this beauty. This has been my absolute must and Berry Crush is my favourite. I was really hoping MNY doesn’t send me a lighter or transparent one. I heart the berry one as it gives a healthy flush to my lips and make my face look brighter. It keeps my lips protected, nourished and soft for a longer time adding a hint of color.

Below is a picture of me wearing the kajal, lip balm and white superfressh compact from Maybelline. Do you think I need more make up to look good? Well, I guess not! I #StaySummerfresh with my MNY summer essentials kit. What about you?

Maybelline White Super fresh 12hr Compact Powder Review

Hello beauties,

How is everyone doing? Christmas is here and I have bought a truck load of things. Some things I need others I don’t but just because that shoes is on sale right now. Do you also indulge in such impulse shopping like me? I end up buying 3 dresses in the search of that perfect Xmas outfit. Also blame the SALE Season; everything has to be on sale this season. Anyway coming to my review, I have enough of compact powders but like I said I was tempted to purchase MAYBELLINE WHITE SUPERFRESH COMPACT after all those reviews flooding online. I am always in a search of a good compact powder because I want to find an alternate incase Rimmel Stay matte powder leaves my side. The Availability is such a big issue with Rimmel.

Product Description –

 Price – Rs. 150 for 8gms

Packaging – It comes with a cute mirror and a small sponge. The sponge is average and I don’t like using it. Application with that sponge gives a patchy look to my face. Hence I’ve bought a separate soft sponge for application. At home, I use my Coastal scents powder brush which helps me give an even finish. The compact is travel friendly and has sturdy packaging.

I think I did a good job by purchasing this compact. My shade is Shell amongst the shade selection. It perfectly suits my medium complexion. This compact has a mild florally smell which I love. With the very first application, I like how it felt on my skin. It gave a fresher, brighter look to my face. I don’t like using foundation for daily use. I apply sunscreen and finish the look by applying the compact powder. I know it has SPF which is definitely an add on advantage. This compact gives a matte look that also means it accentuates the drier patches of my face. I have to make sure my face is well moisturise first before applying powder. This will be a great compact for oily skintypes. Combination skinnies like me can use this too however moisturization first is the! It gives a matte look uptil 5hrs and then I could see my t-zones getting a bit shinier. It gives you a sheer to medium coverage. The price is pocket friendly and I am sure this will be the bestsellers for college-goers.  Overall, I love this compact for the fresh look and bright matte face.

  • Very Affordable
  • Mild floral smell
  • Great for oily skin types
  • Sheer to medium coverage
  • Gives a fresh look and brighter face
  • Mattifies your face upto 5hrs
  • Comes with a mirror & sponge
  • Has UV filters
  • Suits yellow skintones very well.

  • Sponge is average
  • Can accentuate dry areas if not moisturised
  • It doesn’t give a 12 hrs whitening.

RATING –  4.5/5

My Recommendation – This will be a great and budget friendly compact for beginners and even for college goers. I like it for everyday use and loving it this winter.

L’Oreal Paris Magique All-In-One Matte Transforming Powder Review

Hello Lovely ladies,

L’Oreal Paris Magique All in One Matte Transforming Powder

It’s a beautiful Saturday morning and here I am posting a review for my new compact love L’Oreal Paris Magique All in One Matte Transforming Powder. As soon as I heard that L’Oreal has come up with a compact powder which is under 500 bucks. Dude, I really had to check this out. L’Oreal being a niche brand hardly prices any product under 500 and this made me curious to try this new product. Now I am stuck to Rimmel Stay Matte Powder because I haven’t found any compact as equal or better than it. I like matte finish on my face, mind you matte and not fl(akey). So Rimmel was my best bet till date. Until, I found this new cutie from L’Oreal.

Packaging – The packaging is really cute and girly. The hot pink color is very eye catchy and feminine with the L’Oreal branding. It comes with two compartments on top we have the powder pan, while in the second compartment there is sponge with the mirror. I struggle to switch between the compartments as I need to check myself in the mirror while I dab the powder on my face.  The sponge is okayish and decent enough for full face application.

L’Oreal Paris Magique All in One Matte Transforming Powder

My Experience with L’Oreal Paris Magique All-In-One Matte Transforming Powder

Honestly, I am not a foundation girl. I am more of a compact girl. I don’t like covering my face with full fledged base make up all the time.  I prefer putting on my sunscreen, a good compact, kajal, a lip balm/lipstick/lipgloss and I am good to go. I loved this particular compact for many reasons. It is soft matte, like sleek smooth finish. I cannot say its creamy. It gives you a moisturising touch. Having said that, it brightens up your face but also accentuate your dry areas if you have dry/combination skin. I am combination skin and have dry areas around my lips.  So you need to apply a good moisturizer and then use this compact. The coverage is buildable from sheer to full, you can play with it. This will be great for oily skin beauties. This does hide your pores and blemishes pretty well. Coming to the 12 hrs claim, It doesn’t really stay that long, it stays more around 5-6hrs max on my face and then my nose starts getting shinier 😛 . But I don’t need a compact for 12hrs straight anyway. I mostly need it for 8hrs during office and that’s it. You can always re-touch after 5hrs. I am G2 Golden Ivory which is suitable to medium skin beauties. The shades are made for Indian Skintones and most of you will be able to find your match. These fall more in the yellow skintone category. There are 4 more shades. G1 Vanilla Ivory is for fair skin, N2 Nude Vanilla and G2 will be for fair to medium, G7 Golden Amber and N6 Nude Honey is for dusky beauties.  Oh and it comes with SPF 34+++, who wouldn’t love added benefits.  I really wish they could provide more like at least 8gms of product. But I guess they invested more on the packaging so in that case its fair enough.

  • Brightens the face
  • Buildable coverage
  • Keeps your face oil-free around 5-6hrs
  • Gives smooth soft finish to your skin
  • Attractive packaging
  • Inbuilt mirror and sponge
  • SPF 34+++
  • Reasonable price
  • Made for Indian skintones leaning towards yellows
  • Hides pores and blemishes
  • Perfect for daily wear

  • It stays matte only for 5-6hrs and then skin starts getting oilier so no 12hrs stay here.
  • I feel they could stretch the product with 8gms atleast.

Rating– 4.5/5

My Recommendation – It’s a repurchase material. I am hooked to this and see myself wearing it almost every day with that speed I am bound to finish this sooner.
